About Ed Sheeran
Edward Christopher Sheeran MBE is a famous English singer-songwriter and musician. He was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire in England, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk, he began writing songs around the age of eleven. He was a fan of the music of Bob Dylan and the Beatles, as well as the work of such artists as Pink Floyd and The Beatles. In 1980, with his brother Terry, Sheershan met Bob Dorough, who introduced them to a number of other members of The Yardbirds. She then would later tour with Dorne, his first visit to the US.
He has had some success in the UK, where he is currently a regular visitor to Hyde Park, London. His first album, The Old English Way, was released in 1985. The album won the Mercury Prize in 1986, followed by the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical in 1987. That album was followed by the album That's The Way It Is, released the following year, which was nominated for a Grammy. It won Best Album in 1989, the first time that a non-classical album had won a prize. Also in that year, he was selected as one of Time magazine's "100 Most Influential People in The World". In 1992, after being fired from his job as a train driver in London, for being overweight, Heerhan was inspired to write songs about his struggles with weight issues. In 1997, under the name Sheeri, it was recorded and released by his own record label. A year later, in 1998, a new album called The Light of Home was produced by Nick Cave, whom Shehan had befriended on the trip to Israel.
